Griswak Custom Copper Cladding
Sheet copper makes a great choice as a surface covering material from walls to kitchen range hoods, countertops, ceilings, wainscoating, trim mouldings, cabinetry, doors, pillars, posts and more..
Copper is one of the few anti-microbial surfaces, making it a safe and sanitary choice in spaces subject to a potential mildew, mold and/or bacteria problem, including wine cellars*. Copper is recognized world-wide as an acceptable surface covering material in all commercial food preparation and kitchen facilities.
Easy to care for, raw and finished copper surfaces may be cleaned with mildly soapy warm water, or even just warm water, and a soft washcloth. Raw copper can be cleaned and kept in its original "orange" coloring state with the use lemon juice, warm water and a scouring pad.

Sheet copper is available in a variety of thicknesses (gauges) and is sold by the pound, 16 oz. (meaning there is 16 oz. of copper per square foot) is the most commonly used and perfectly suited to most cladding instances. Where heavier wear and use on the copper surface is to be expected, using a heavier weight such as 20 oz. or even 32 oz. would be required. The torch firing techniques of creating these various patinas is alchemistic. There are many variables which all interact during the undertaking of coloring copper, especially in large panel sizes (up to 9 1/2 feet tall by 3 1/2/ feet wide!), making the results random in pattern, although schematically correct in color. What you see here are general color schematics. Through continual experimentation new colorings, patterns and textures are constantly being created. Consider the possibility of utilizing more than just one patina in your project.
